I’m going to be talking about Country Building in video games, Like Boarder finding, other countries interacting and Making laws. Finding Boarders is a difficult if the game isn’t grid based, I thank a scout system could help or having the distances between buildings form a boarder and building something at the ends of the boarder extends the boarder. Interactions with other countries is where the interesting part is, because it’s where a lot of the gameplay is, so there are obvious things like opening trade roots or opening boarders, but I will be focusing on boarder interactions, You could make treaties that allow building in other countries with out consequence, or form partnerships with another country and practically fuse the two countries, but in Interactions the sky is the limit. Making Law is a very complex system, The way I thought of is you have a list of actions like stealing, falsely calling guards, etc.. and the add consequence for the actions(You could even add weights to the actions and consequences and if the consequence is less the the action it’s a fair punishment, if the opposite is true then it’s in unjust punishment) and let the player choose consequences for actions, I think there’s a you could do with this system. But what do you think are my Idea Half-Baked and dumb or Smart?
